From extra vacation days to a gym membership, having more perks than the next company can help you get ahead of the rankings among candidates. It might sounds unimportant, but a top candidate will consider everything – and that includes the additional benefits.
Bring in the candidate
So you want to find top talent. Sometimes an interview can only say so much about the individual. What you might want to consider is bringing the candidate into the office for a day either to shadow or do some work. See how they blend with the company culture and if they catch onto what the job entails.
Ask different interview questions
Up your interviews by asking candidates to provide scenarios related to the position. Most of the time, a candidate is prepared to answer the question, “What is your greatest accomplishment?” or “Tell me more about your experience.” Get a real feel for the candidate by having a more interpersonal conversation.
